Art Deco Ten Arm Smoked Amber & Rose Murano Glass Chandelier with Florettes

Description
This gorgeous Art Deco chandelier was handblown in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- circa 1940. The chandelier features ten undulating sculptural smoked amber Murano arms with circular bobeches that offer striated foliate detailing and rose accents at their tips. The body of the chandelier is composed of smoked amber that sits below the arms with two hourglass embellishments with rose detailing attached to its base. A conical finial with helix form detailing in relief and rose hued beaded adornments, suggesting stylized berries, sits the nadir of the chandelier. Stylized floral embellishments with smoked amber stems and rose colored petals with alternating stylized the undulating arms fan out above the undulating arms, separated by sculptural abstracted foliate embellishments. Textured ovoid forms as well as two conical embellishments crowned with sculptural rose/smoked amber detailing wrap around the stem. There are also Murano rings with seven striated streamlined petals hanging from each of the arms that culminate in rose hued petals. With its extraordinary attention to detail and refined color palate, this piece would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Deco to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates ten candelabra based bulbs offering up to 600 watts of light.
