Large 1950s glass and metal wall or ceiling lamp by Oscar Torlasco for Lumi. Executed in sculpturally curved opaline glass and black and white painted metal. A highly refined design reminiscent of the work of Bruno Gatta for Stilnovo. Retains original "LUMI" manufacturer's label.
Lumi was one of the most innovative lighting design companies in Italy during the midcentury era. Oscar Torlasco was their master. Their lamps Stand apart in terms of both functionality and originality.
Rewired for US electrical with black cord and period styled black wall plug. Professionally repainted. Accommodates 3x 60w equivalent LED bulbs (lower with incandescent). Some minor patina, scuffs and scratches as largely documented in the images and noted only for accuracy.
Not UL listed, but recommended UL listing possible from authorized 3rd party vendor upon request for an additional fee. -
