  • Description
Super sexy 1970s lucite Ming style arm chair by celebrated Mid Century Modern Designer Charles Hollis Jones credited with first introducing lucite as a building material for furnishings in the 1960s. Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Johnny Carson and Tennessee Williams all commissioned Hollis Jones to construct pieces for their homes. With this particular chair, Hollis Jones re-imagined traditional Ming style chairs historically made of wood. His use of lucite immediately refreshed and modernized the look of the chair adding a feeling of weightlessness. Light passes through the chair as if invisible. A great choice for smaller spaces, this chair will not feel heavy in a space or crowd a room. Bent tubular lucite arms with brass bangle accents are mirrored in form and detail with the chair's tubular legs. Wide seat newly upholstered in Tiger Velvet made of Silk with complimentary piping. All brass parts professionally polished and lacquered to retain polish. Only one of its kind currently available.
