Description
Depth: 25.98" || Creator: Charles Robert Ashbee || C. R. Ashbee for The Guild of Handicraft. A rare Arts and Crafts oak armchair with larger proportions than usual. The shaped back makes this armchair ergonomically perfect and rather comfortable I must say. With subtle details to the feet. Literature: Der Moderne Stil, 1905, vol. 7, pl. 8, fig. 6 (for an example with inlaid splat); The Studio Yearbook of Decorative Art, 1907, p. 47 (for an example photographed within a Cheyne Walk interior); Crawford, Alan, C.
