Danish design is a remarkable combination of concern for comfort and materiality melded with a desire for Shaker-like clarity. Most notably, the vintage pieces of the 1950s, like this stylish easy chair, are an exciting collision of sensuality, usually evidenced in the materials, with the discipline of the design.

With a characteristic organic shape, this chair has soft curves, perched on tapered legs. Easy chairs – umbrella term for typically upholstered, comfortable chairs - in particular are expected to provide a design and level of comfort that assures relaxation. This is achieved by the slightly raised seat and bent backrest that guarantee these qualities. The sculptural armrests complement the rounded edges of the body and have unique decorative wooden pieces glued to them. These highlight the armrests’ curve and way in which they connect to the upholstered body. This decorative element immediately gives this chair a unique characteristic that separates it visually from the similar armchairs of the era. The premium green fabric accentuates the shape of the body, while the three buttons placed uniquely on the lower part separate the seat from the back visually. Finally, the simple, tapered legs highlight the stained beech wood, creating a balance between the materials and round and straight lines.
