French Empire Revival, Bronze, Mahogany, Fabric, Footstool or Ottoman, France, 19th c.

A striking antique stool featuring a giltwood and mahogany frame, richly carved with winged sphinx supports and paw feet. The seat is upholstered in an elegant gold-patterned fabric, complemented by rosettes and a foliate gilt frieze. A refined, museum-quality piece.
