Description
Depth: 20" || Creator: John Pollard Seddon || John Pollard Seddon (1827-1906), six Gothic Revival oak dining chairs. These upholstered dining chairs are the side chairs en suite to the important Gothic Revival armchair by J. P. Seddon designed for The Great Exhibition of 1851, carved in oak, embossed leather and caned. Whiteway, Michael and Gere, Charlotte 'Nineteenth-Century Design' London 1933, illus. P. 84. Cooper, Jeremy 'Victorian and Edwardian Furniture and Interiors' London 1987, p. 104, illus. 220 and p. 105, illus 227. I also have two more pairs available to make a set of six, please enquire.
