Description
A rare, early 19th century Swedish Rococo style slant-front secretary from Fryksdalen in Värmland with arched cornice, circa 1820. The paint has been hand-scraped down to the original, gorgeous blue paint surface. The slant-front opens to reveal 8 drawers and a center pigeon hole behind the writing surface. The shaped doors of the upper library open to reveal four small drawers and three shelves, including a shaped, slotted utensil rack. The desk surface height is 28.75 inches. This piece disassembles for ease of transport (lower cabinet, upper case, doors, and cornice).
