Rare Egon Ostergaard Swedish Roll-Top Secretary Desk Bookmatched Teak & Rosewood
-
Description
Designed by Egon Ostergaard in the 1950s, this desk was made some time after by Gustafsson in Sweden. Similar to other pieces of the era and origin, this desk features awesome grained and bookmatched teak and rosewood exterior panels on the front, sides, and top. The quality continues inside, where large, well-made drawers slide smoothly and have directionally grained fronts. There is a panel in front that slides out as a writing surface, and the top rolls back smoothly and quietly. You'll love the warm feeling this brings to the room it's in, and the surprising functionality this form factor provides.
Both original keys are included, and the piece is ink-stamped "Made in Sweden" on the bottom. In very nice vintage and original condition. Normal wear throughout, but presents and functions super nicely. -
