English 19th Century Painted Shop Counter
-
Description
Fantastic painted counter from a 19th Century English shop, this rare and outstanding fixture would transform your kitchen or retail establishment. Darkened oak planks on the surface are deeply textured with rippling grain and the patina from time and use, resulting in a very forgiving work surface to use in a domestic or commercial space. The heavy, solid wood case is paneled on the front and sides under a blue-gray, worn paint finish. The backside is open for storage with two drawers in the apron, opened by heavy iron drop pulls and two long (fixed) shelves below for storage or display. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to bring out every historic detail. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition.
