French 19th Century Faux Bamboo Pine & Mirror Armoire
-
Description
Dimensions: 86” H x 40 ¾” W x 19 ¼” D
French faux bamboo armoire, late 19th century, carved from pine and stained to give an exotic appearance down to the intermittent nodes along the stalk. This example takes the familiar proportions of a Louis Philippe bibliotheque or armoire and transforms the exterior with multiple rows of faux bamboo molding that outlines the rectilinear form of the case. The door retains its original mirror plate–barely touched with dark foxing at the upper left corner–opening by working lock and key to access the spacious interior of four shelves, 13” deep, adjustable on sawtooth brackets. In the base of the piece is a drawer with a protective lid that slides back and forth. Enormous bun feet lift the case off the floor. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax, this unique armoire is ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images to see more. -
