Swedish 19th Century Gustavian Painted Chest
-
Description
A reproduction Swedish Gustavian-style chest of drawers from the late 1800s with its original paint finish. The top surface is painted by hand in a faux finish to mimic the look of stone, blending taupe and gray patches with subtle movement. The cabinetry has a layered and scraped finish of celadon-hue (pale blue-green) with three easy-to-use drawers opened by pairs of iron ring pulls. Chamfered front corners are further defined by fluted carvings and acanthus motif before transitioning to the square, tapered feet. Be sure to see the detailed images to see the current condition of this painted chest of drawers.
