Aldo Tura returned to the motif of the swan across several pieces, but perhaps none was as fully realised and perfectly sculptural as here in this exceedingly elegant and finely constructed cream parchment bar cart. Catching the light beautifully across the subtly dappled surface, with two levels in glass, brass hardware, and gilt, spoked wheels, the lavish and hand-crafted approach that Tura is known for adds to the perfection of the swan-shaped sides.
The tail of each swan is tipped in brass for handles, leading down to the reduced, harp-like curve of the body that links the wheels and two glass tiers, looping playfully into the graceful neck and head of a resting swan on each side. Cultivated, exquisitely made, and utterly charming.
