Description
A striking Victorian satinwood bureau plat, of shaped rectangular form inset with the original oval burgundy leather, with a disguised frieze drawers, decorated with purple heart and kingwood openwork tracery cartouches in the corners and crossbanding throughout, with bold ormolu mounts comprising a gadrooned border, four classical masks of nymphs and satyrs with radiating halos, lion mask corners and scrolling sabots. English, 1850.
