Italian Murano glass vase/monumental bowl, contemporary Work of Art signed by Davide Dona. The mouth blown execution is extraordinary considering the important size and weight. The difficult to achieve decoration is realized with a transparent red orange body overlaid in thick clear glass worked with bubbles and sophisticated inclusions of expanded murrine in different colors, turquoise blue, azure, aquamarine, yellow, white, black, applied like strokes of a modern painting. The strokes of color not only give movement to the curved and sensual piece but assume different tints depending on the light source. With “Certificate of Authenticity.” Davide Dona is recognized for the rare ability to blow oversized pieces that require exceptional handling and maestria in working quickly with precise movements, several of his pieces have been displayed in the Murano Glass Museum.
