Early Functionalist / Modernist-style table lamp with arching motif in relief by pioneering ceramic designer Eva Staehr Nielsen (1911-1976) for Saxbo, the model consisting of a stout squared jug-like form with arch motif on two of its faces, crafted in stoneware glazed in a deep blue tone with a velvety nearly matte surface finish; Denmark, mid-20th century; marked with impressed Saxbo motif and name and model # “158;”inscribed “1” “E.ST.N.”
