An exquisite Italian midcentury console or writing table by Guglielmo Ulrich, circa 1930-1940 uniting modern, neoclassical and Art Deco sensibilities.
The piece is set on four sumptuous tapering dark wood legs united by a sensuous curving stretcher. Thick glass is inset into the frame with center panel being hand gilt. The glass sleekly fits the curving back of the frame and is angled inward in the front. A drawer with a gilt bronze handle is situated underneath the gilt glass.
