    Graphic pattern carved black pottery vase with an exquisite matte finish. Margaret Tafoya pottery. Maria Margarita "Margaret" Tafoya (1904-2001) was a matriarch of Santa Clara Pueblo potters. Margaret learned the traditional art of pottery making from her mother, another renowned potter, Sara Fina Tafoya. Margaret received many accolades throughout her life and her work is highly sought after by collectors of fine Native American pottery.
