Delft blue and white “W:Snuif” urn-shape tobacco jar with lid, Netherlands, circa 1780. Inscribed “W:Snuif” and decorated with coastal scene and seated “Amerindian” figure. W:Snuif refers to finely ground snuff tobacco commonly inhaled throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. Stepped brass lid with acorn motif knob handle. De Drie Klokken (Three Bells) factory mark on bottom of jar.
