Description
Appealing mid 19th century chest of drawers from the renowed Biedermeier period in Austria around 1850. This great old restored three drawer commode (we have additionally carefully cleaned the surface) impresses with its fantastic walnut/ nutwood veneered surface, arranged in an absolute gorgeous looking manner. The mirrormatched front shows an amazing grain, flowing down from top to the base like a waterfall. Artfully handcarved wooden applications made out of solid nutwood on top of the slightly slanted front edges, a beautifully designed top plate and the elegantly curved small feet confer this 19th century Biedermeier commode a real exceptional look. The original locks are fully functional and all drawers running super smoothly. Sealed with a traditional hand-polished shellac finish, this lovely shaped, timeless Biedermeier commode/ chest of drawers is additionally adorned by the still original, round brass fittings. A great sized piece of Biedermeier furniture coming in great old restored condition. Some older restoration marks can be seen but these won´t affect the beauty of this antique Biedermeier chest of drawers in any way, much more in confers this piece a truly unique charme.
