    Mid-century Modern Abstract Painting by John E. Anderson

    Offered for sale is a colorful circa 1960s abstract oil painting by John E. Anderson. The work is on Masonite and titled "The Last Star" as seen on verso. The painting is signed in the upper right corner and is presented in a thin black frame. Anderson (1923-1971 ) was from Mankato, MN and spent most of his career painting and teaching in Minnesota. He also painted and exhibited in Paris and Greenwich Village NY. In the 1950s, his work was included in the new modern art movement exhibitions at the Whitney and Guggenheim museums.
