Description
Marc Fish, Contemporary, Ethereal Series, Decorative Wall Art, Resin, UK. 21st C
Pair of wall panels exclusively on view and available at our Americana Manhasset gallery in Long Island, New York, where we exclusively represent the artist in the United States. Marc Fish has been a sensation in the world of collectible design for years. His work is internationally recognized throughout the contemporary design space.
The Ethereal wall panel diptych is made from Marc Fish's usual laminated veneer technique, with the important difference that he leaves negative space between them – treating them not as layers within a solid stratigraphy, but as fins within a more open structure. He then pours resin over these delicate, paper-thin armatures. The use of frosting and tinting in the resin produces mesmerizing visual effects, like sunlight through water currents or tree canopies.
The Ethereal wall panels could be positioned anywhere around the house to add texture, warmth and fluidity to a wall. The principle of visual movement, which has been central to Fish’s work for years, is quite literally transformed into another dimension. The Ethereal range in sycamore wood and resin is designed for use, see other items in the collection. The Ethereal series is the epitome of innovation from the studio that has become popular among collectors.
