1950s Italian mid-century design in the style of Isa Bergamo, this vintage high back sofa with a curved corner features a sculptural semi-circular silhouette and subtly angled form, gracefully hugging the space around it to offer both visual interest and ergonomic comfort. The solid wood frame is original, as are the legs and metal parts. All the padding has been replaced and is new; the muslin underlining, also new, is upholstery-ready. The craftsmanship and architectural balance are accented by a unique sinuous form and construction details: note the sofa seat is cut at an angle on the underside, creating an impactful visual effect. This piece retains its original black lacquer tapered brass legs, typical of Italian modernist aesthetics. The deep seat and gently pitched backrest provide inviting comfort with its contours, while the clean, minimal lines make it an ideal centerpiece in any interior, modern, vintage, or eclectic.
