Gio Ponti side tables (stands) produced by Giordano Chiesa,
from the suite of the Hotel Royal Naples, 1953
Italian walnut, brass. Brass details Handles, foot and seven sections (each stand) five walnut sticks
Measures: Height 63,5cm, 65 x 42 cm height without the brass handle 51.5 cm
hese items come directly from the original furniture of the Hotel (original Hotel Royal invoice).
Lorenzo Ciompi, the owner of Compendio Gallery bought in the 90 all the furniture of the Hotel Royal and some of these piece are now in Triennale of Milano, in Design Museum in London and sold in important auctions during last years ( Chiristie's, Sotheby's Phillips, Piasa..).

His collection includes famous items designed by Gio Ponti as well as other well-known Italian designers such as Ico Pairisi, Osvaldo Borsani, Carlo De Carli , Carlo Mollino, Melchiorre Bega, Joe Colombo. A lot of furniture items projected by these designers were published on important magazines such as AD, The World Interiors, Elle, Domus.
