This compelling series, initiated in winter 2024, serves as a visual diary reflecting fluctuating inner emotions during a period of significant political and social transition in South Korea.
This body of work masterfully explores the inherent tension between order and uncertainty, individual sentiment and broader societal shifts, and the dynamic interplay between emotional flow and structured visual forms.
Comprising approximately 420 "Colours as Adjectives," each combination of colour and language acts as a distinct "element" within a larger, cohesive set. The artist meticulously records fragments of enduring memories from a time of upheaval, presented within the ordered, repeating grid format of squares.
Titled Subset, this series does not merely reproduce or explain specific emotions. Instead, it offers a profound record of how emotions persist and leave their indelible traces across time, captured through carefully selected and arranged moments. -
