You are viewing a fascinating piece of history and art. The work that is called “Martial Discord” executed in 2000, is on an actual piece of the Berlin Wall by Vladimir Smachtin (Russian, b.1955). This was part of a traveling exhibition of 115 original paintings on wall fragments from the “Berlin Wall Art Collection.”
Signed on the lower left and inscribed with authentication verso by Dr. Rainer Hildebrandt of the “Check Point Charlie Museum.” The piece comes with the exhibition catalogue illustrating the entire collection with some other notable artists like, Robert Indiana etc. This piece was acquired from a notable collection in New York City. It would make a fine piece of art, history and conversation piece in any home. As a note: This piece weighs 63lbs. -
