This central Persian Chahar MahaL "Bakhtiari" large scatter is in the same Europeanizing style as certain Caucasian Karabaghs of the later 19th century. Here two ragged ivory ovals present rose bouquets in the French floral design (Gol-i-Firangi), withing a red cartouche with a gold outline inside a larger red sub-field cartouche, with a pink rose-accented dark blue field just slipping out all around. Ecru main border of square rose bouquets. Perfect for your period-style drawing room. Good condition with a warm and abrashed madder red.
