Lauren Rottet browsed InCollect and selected furniture and lighting that reflects her singular style. She says, “To know how to design for the future you must know the past. Though I am most known for contemporary minimal design, I love antiques and really cannot live without them in my home. I am drawn to purism whether old or new and I love when someone is not afraid to embellish a pure form with artistry. When I mix authentic historic furniture and accessories with pure contemporary pieces it is an experience beyond either. I am not compelled by anything in between pure historic or pure contemporary.”

Among Rottet’s top InCollect picks are an elegant and iconic P40 chaise lounge designed in 1955 by Osvaldo Borsani for the Italian manufacturer Tecno from Todd Merrill Studio; a magnificently shaped paint decorated settee from Kelly Kinzle Antiques; a black walnut bench with back by the mid century modern design master George Nakashima from Moderne Gallery; a dramatic mahogany Regency lyre tall case clock from The Stanley Weiss Collection; an early William and Mary painted five slat-back armchair from Bernard & S. Dean Levy Inc.; a mid century Italian glass and brass chandelier from Craig van den Brulle; a whimsical four-light pendant with molded glass flowers by AV Mazzega from Epoca; a rare 1950s table lamp by the legendary lighting designer Gino Sarfatti from Douglas Rosin Decorative Arts & Antiques; a beautifully crafted octagonal cocktail table with a lucite and polished chrome base and glass top by Alessandro Albrizzi from Objects20c; and a rare PH Emperor chandelier by the Danish design master Poul Henningsen from H.M. Luther.
