Andrea Branzi

Andrea Branzi is an Italian architect, designer, and critic who was born in Florence, Italy in 1938. He studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, where he later became a professor of Industrial Design.
 
Branzi is known for his contributions to the fields of architecture, industrial design, and urban planning. He has been involved in a number of influential design movements, including the Radical Design movement of the 1960s and 70s, and the Memphis Group, which was founded in 1981.
 
Throughout his career, Branzi has designed furniture, lighting, household objects, and other products, and he has also worked on a number of architectural and urban planning projects. Some of his notable designs include the Magis Chair One, the Nastro bookshelf, and the 1982 Memphis Milano Carlton room divider.
 
Branzi has also published several books on design and architecture, including "Domestic Animals: The Neoprimitive Style" (1987) and "The Hot House: Italian New Wave Design" (1999). In addition to his work as a designer, Branzi has also taught at a number of institutions, including the Royal College of Art in London, and has served on the board of the Triennale di Milano.
