Autonomous Furniture
Canadian
Kirk Van Ludwig’s Autonomous Furniture studio and workshop is located on Vancouver Island, on the West Coast of Canada. His furniture lineup consists of roughly 25 products that can be heavily tailored to his clients’ needs, adding typically 3 to 4 new designs each year. Known for West Coast contemporary design, Autonomous Furniture is in a class of its own, challenging the standards of modernity with refined lines and mixed materials that heighten the sophistication and drama of any given piece.
Autonomous Furniture launched in 2013, Kirk and his team of furniture makers routinely ship to North America and around the world – both in residential and commercial applications. Van Ludwig’s work was featured at Wanted Design during NYC’s Design Week. His work is in multiple Canadian Embassies including Berlin, Moscow, Vienna, and New York.
As an avid outdoor adventurer who appreciates the West Coast's mountains and forests close up, Kirk draws on the inherent forms and patterns he discovers in the wilderness. All furniture is sustainably sourced and made in British Columbia, Canada.
