Christiaan Bunce

American
Christiaan Bunce spent his childhood in the American Midwest, raised by artist parents. Like any child, he preferred playing unsupervised with friends but begrudgingly accompanied his parents to countless art galleries, studios, and museums throughout the US. Eventually following in their footsteps, he earned a BFA from the University of Wisconsin and an MFA from the University of Washington in sculpture. Following his studies, he was accepted to attend the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. His art led him to NYC, where after three years of participating in various projects and art shows, he opened his own firm, Christiaan Bunce Design. From 2001 to 2005, he also served as an associate professor teaching sculpture and furniture design at the Pratt Institute. KGBL is the evolution of Christiaan's journey from artist to furniture designer - and the pursuit of instilling beauty in the objects he creates.
