Landstrom Furniture Co.
American, 1928 - 1958
Landstrom Furniture Co. was a furniture manufacturing company based in Rockford, Illinois, United States. The company was founded in 1879 by Swedish immigrant John Landstrom and his business partner, John Damm, and was known for producing high-quality furniture in a variety of styles.
Landstrom Furniture Co. gained national recognition in the early 20th century, particularly for its Arts and Crafts-style furniture, which featured simple lines and natural materials. The company also produced furniture in other styles, including Colonial Revival and Art Deco.
In the 1920s, Landstrom Furniture Co. became a subsidiary of Rockford Chair and Furniture Company, and the two companies shared facilities and management. The company continued to produce furniture until the 1950s, when it was sold to American Seating Company.
Today, vintage pieces of Landstrom Furniture Co. are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of Arts and Crafts-style furniture.
