A Rare Grand Scale 19th Century French Cast Iron Garden Fountain Of Elegant Form, Surmounted with a Putto holding a fish signed A Durenne, Sommevoire.
French Circa 1880.
A large scale French cast iron garden fountain, a putto holding a fish balances on its left foot on a circular base, moulded with the lettering A.DURENNE SOMMEVOIRE, placed on top of a circular basin with scalloped exterior, the supporting stem moulded with acanthus leaves sits above a larger octagonal basin, supported by an octagonal moulded shaft with acanthus leaves and other foliate ornaments.
Standing 2.4 metres in height an imposing garden fountain of the highest quality.
