Jonathan Cross's ceramic vessels are formed with an ancient wood firing technique which the artist employs to create usable sculpture, vases and vessels the resemble ancient geological forms reinterpreted for a modern world. Merging sculpture and utility, the vessels are both minimalist, brutalist and with texture and color that references the artists passion for geology and contemporary art. Each piece is unique. Pavilion is the collective vision of Deborah Colman and Neil Kraus, both graduates of the master of fine arts program at the Art Institute of Chicago.
