-
Description
Presenting a stunning, high quality and extremely rare early 20th century (nouveau/deco era) monumental 1920s solid walnut carved fire surround, from circa 1925-1930.
The fire surround is made of solid walnut with a gorgeous natural patina, with an indented top, large shelf, vine leaf carving on the front panel, supported by 6 scrolling acanthus corbels and curved and molded legs and sides to create depth.
Elegant and stylish piece. This was a very high-end item in it’s day and was probably ‘Custom-Made’!
It was located in a Mansion in Highland Park, Texas built in 1929.
It exudes quality and style
The inside (fireplace) dimensions are: 63.25" Wide, 42.5" Tall and 6" deep.
Note: The 'Iron Grate' insert is being sold with the piece, but the andirons and brass fire fender are being sold separately. Interested Buyers should be aware, however, that the fender and andirons have always been with this piece and came out of the same collection. -
