Description
An Edwardian cased oak barograph with bevelled glass panels and a central chart drawer. Inscribed ‘Made by Short & Mason London, for A & N C S Westminster’.
A & N C S refers to the Army & Navy Co-operative Society Ltd., an army surplus department store which was incorporated on 15 September 1871. It began as a co-operative society for military officers and their families. The flagship store was located on Victoria Street in Westminster, London. -
