A 19th century, fine & unusual blue John Urn (known as Derbyshire Spar) is a semi-precious mineral is a form of fluorite with bands of a purple-blue or yellowish colour, like this example. In the UK it is found only at Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern at Castleton in Derbyshire. During 19th cent.
Repaired: Minor touch ups & polished. Wear consistent with age and use.
