A good sized 19th Century Classical Grand Tour bronze group of Ariadne and the. Modelled with Ariadne reclining to the left while her head is looking to the same side, with her robe across her Panther with wide stride and head turned to Dexter. After Johann Heinrich Dannecker. In good condition with a well built up rich patina with highlights in areas. A crisp casting and harder to find model. In Greek mythology, Ariadne is the Cretan Princess and Daughter of the King Minos of Crete, she was also the wife of Dionysus, the God of Wine.
