Large Plaster Sculpture by A. Ysermans, The Netherlands 1976
-
Description
A multitude of different attractive angles and sloping shapes that communicate a play of shadow and light is what immediately catches the eye.
Design
This sculpture is different from every angle and the dynamics are different from every angle but continue to attract attention.
Viewed from the angle where the sculpture shows the most lines, a form of illusion is created that is also called pareidolia. With the slightest imagination, a mouth, chin, and nose appear. Of course, another random observation is also completely possible. In addition to a face, one can also detect a voluptuous body.
This object is divided into three parts and are connected by Ysermans' graceful modeling work, whereby each part seems to be slightly pressed into the other. Sterile plaster and attractive shapes reinforce each other and make this a real conversation piece.
Condition
The condition of this sculpture is good with only very minor imperfections such as small spots and slight discolorations. -
