Description A quintessential example of great American Art Deco, this M. E. Coyle, Chevrolet Soap Box Derby Trophy, was awarded to the City Champion where the race was held. This trophy is a silver plated World globe mounted on a painted wooden base. 14" tall, 10" diameter. These trophies, sponsored by Chevrolet, were awarded during the 1930's up until the beginning of the Second World War. The trophy is in near perfect condition, with some minor paint chips to the base & some tarnish to the silver plate. A very rare decorative sculpture.
