Description
This Victorian dressing box is a beautiful example of English portable luxury, crafted from burl walnut with a rich, swirling grain that draws the eye. The fine joinery and the depth of the wood's figure reveal the careful attention of a 19th century maker dedicated to creating an object of both utility and grace.
Circa 1870, this original period piece comes from an era when the dressing box was an essential companion for the refined traveler.
The box is finished in burl walnut with a warm, natural patina that highlights the intricate patterns of the wood. Rooted in the Victorian tradition, this piece represents the era’s love for quality English design combined with a practical sense of elegance and unexpected flashes of modernism. -
