Description
American Art Deco sterling silver and 14k gold cigarette case, ca 1920. Retailed by Cartier in New York. Rectangular and hinged with push tab. Front and back have horizontal linear pattern comprising pink and yellow gold stripes and silver stripes with vertical and horizontal ribbing. Gilt interior with hinged and open strap. Fully marked including indistinct maker’s stamp (probably James E. Blake Co.) and retailer’s stamp, phrase “Sterling and 14k”, and nos. 6883, 121, and 62. Very good condition.
