Description
Chikuryosai made this basket with Madake bamboo, using free-style asanoha hexagonal plaiting and wrapping.
Incised signature on bottom reads "Made by Chikuryosai".
Comes with its original lacquered bamboo water container and original fitted wood tomobako storage box inscribed outside "White-Bamboo Flower Basket" and signed inside Chikuryosai with a seal Chikuryo and with the date August 1920. Outside paper label is inscribed "Flower basket by Chikuryosai"; -
