German silver box. Imported to England in 1900 by William Moering. Rectangular with straight sides; cover flat and hinged. On sides and cover top, in relief, scenes of rustic idyll with country folk dancing and feasting. Gilt-washed interior. Hanau maker’s mark and English sterling-standard import marks including London assay stamp. Very good condition.
