Indonesian Mechanical Drill

$ 480
  • Description
    Long ago, an Indonesian artisan living on Lombok, an island well known for its weaving, made his living using this handsome hand-crafted drill. The antique tool is beautifully constructed with timeworn materials - the ferrule tip is copper, the tapered handle is iron and the spiral shaft is carved of hardwood with a woven reed stop. Still functional, the drill is highly sculptural in the fluidity of its form. A discerning collector traveling to Lombok on behalf of a museum purchased this tool over 30 years ago, and today it lives on as a storied keepsake of the past. // Depth: 2.0"
