Set of 4 novelty sterling silver place card holders, ca 1920. Retailed by Jagat Narain & Sons in New Dehli, India. Each: Slanted rectangle with bracket clip-mounted to back; rectangular base. On each is oval porcelain plaque with enameled depiction of Western modes of transport including the steamship, train, and automobile. On the fourth is a curricle, the light two-wheeled carriage that was fashionable in the early 19th century. In original leather-bound case; fitted velvet and silk lining with retailer’s stamp. Each holder marked “Sterling JnS”. Very good condition.
