Minton Majolica vase which features 3 merboys supporting a shell vase. Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, cream, are predominant. The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1873. Book reference ,'Victorian Majolica' by Leslie Bockol, page 60.
