    Overscale Vintage Hand-Carved Asian Buddha Statue

    Offered for sale is an impressive and substantial very large Buddha that is
    hand-carved from a single piece of wood which we believe is walnut. The carving is quite detailed and the hands are in the Vitarka Teaching Mudra position.
    "Vitarka Teaching mudra. Held at chest level, the right hand faces outward. The thumb and forefinger form a circle, symbolizing the “Wheel of the Teaching.” Pointing downward, the left hand faces outward or lies palm up in the lap."
    The sculpture has an age crack as shown but it does not affect the stability.
