$ 2,300
  • Description
    Julius Caesar and Gallic King Vercingetorix Neoclassical Repousses in Patinated Copper 19th Century.

    A wonderful pair of neoclassical (wall) repousses in patinated copper. Also great as a centerpiece or bas relief plaque on your table or cabinet. Elegant and stylish.

    Vercingetorix was a Gallic king and chieftain of the Arverni tribe who united the Gauls in a failed revolt against Roman forces during the last phase of Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars. After surrendering to Caesar and spending almost six years in prison, he was executed in Rome.

    Great work, very tactile and shows a nice patina.
    They make a wonderful pair.
