Condition Good. Hen: Good. No restoration. A few paint losses to tail, back and rim. Nest: Good. No restoration. Shallow chip to inner rim and bruise to exterior. Paint losses to rim. KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the interior and exterior.
Creation Date 1860
Description Staffordshire pottery tureen with cover which features a hen with chicks under her wing, seated on an oval basketweave tureen base. Multicolored version. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
